2014 Examination Certificates Available for Collection

Free School Meals online checking service
You can quickly and easily check if your child is entitled to receive Free School Meals by using this website www.fsm.lgfl.net . After entering a few essential details, the online application process links to the Department for Education system and gives an immediate ‘yes’ or ‘no’ response, and will notify the school.
We would like to encourage parents to apply and take advantage of free school meals while at the same time increasing the benefit to schools from Pupil Premium funding, a substantial amount of which goes unclaimed. You do not need to use this service if your child already receives Free School Meals.
Our school will close in July 2016. As a result, we currently only have Years 10 and 11 and a small Year 13 cohort. We can only accept applications for Years 10 and 11 - for students born between 1st September 1998 and 31st August 2000. The curriculum we offer is available to view here
Applications must be made through the local authority where you live. For those who live in the London Borough of Barnet, the telephone number is 020 8359 7651 and email address is email@example.com

Jack Petchey Awards Evening
On Thursday 3rd July at the Arts Depot, North Finchley, our Jack Petchey Award winners for the school year were presented with their medals.
Pictured with Councillor David Longstaff, the Deputy Mayor of Barnet, are Isaac Quaidoo, Carolyne Sarracino, Magdalena Domagala and Nanji Dashwep. Our other winners, who were unable to attend the ceremony, were Leema Malik, Wiktoria Nowak, Ali Mohamed, Vanda Franco and Christian Sossongo.
Our nominated charity this year is the Teenage Cancer Trust - please see this video for details of the work that they do.
On Tuesday 29th April 2014, we were delighted to receive a visit from Hailey Acton Deboick, who is a Regional Fundraiser for Teenage Cancer Trust. We were able to present her with a cheque for £1000, this being the first instalment of our charity fundraising this year. The photograph below shows Mrs Lapourides presenting the cheque to Hailey. We were delighted to present Hailey with another cheque for £1000 on Tuesday 21st October 2014.
Some of our students took part in a sponsored bag pack at Sainsbury's in New Barnet on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April 2014 and raised further funds for the charity. They received certificates for their help.
Thank you for your continued support.
School Choir at the Barnet Schools Music Festival
The choir took part in the Barnet Schools Music Festival at the Arts Depot on 18th June 2014 and put on a fine display to impress all the primary schools attending. As ever they were a credit to St Mary's with their enthusiastic support for other acts and their friendliness and politeness towards everyone we met.
